2025 Summer
This summer, we welcomed 30 dedicated participants to the UCI campus for an unforgettable journey analyzing big data using real cancer datasets. Over two intensive weeks, our BigCARE community came together to learn cutting-edge computational techniques while building meaningful connections that extend far beyond the classroom.
Our photo contest captured the spirit of discovery and collaboration that defined the workshop, while lightning talks gave participants a chance to showcase their own research passions and expertise. The highlight came during our closing dinner, where everyone gathered for a memorable photo signing session - ensuring each participant left with tangible reminders of the friendships formed and knowledge gained.
2024 Summer
2024 marked a milestone year as we hosted our first BigCARE workshop at the stunning UCI campus. We welcomed 40 participants from across the country to this beautiful Southern California setting, where cutting-edge research meets world-class facilities. Throughout the intensive program, participants engaged in diverse learning activities designed to build expertise in big data analysis pipelines using real human omics datasets. From hands-on computational sessions to collaborative research projects, attendees gained practical experience applying advanced bioinformatics and statistical techniques to actual cancer research challenges.
